Welcome Statement
The Curry College Sports Medicine Department's program delivers traditional athletic training and sports medicine services to the college's varsity student-athletes. There are various types of services offered: injury prevention (i.e., taping, bracing, padding, and special padding), management of athletic injuries, emergency care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. In addition, whenever possible, the sports medicine department strives to integrate education about athletic injuries so that student-athletes can be empowered to lead healthier, injury-free lifestyles. The sports medicine department is committed to the continuing education of its staff regarding technology and techniques in sports medicine as well as staying current regarding the College’s and NCAA’s policies and procedures.

Mission
Statement
The purpose of the sports medicine program is four-pronged. First, to allow easy access to the sports medicine services so student-athletes will be assured of outstanding quality of care. Second, to encourage a philosophy of physical activity that places a high value on health and wellness. Third, to enable injured student-athletes to return to their sports as soon as is medically safe. Finally, the sports medicine department is committed to educating interns and athletic training students in both the art and science of practicing athletic training in an ethical and moral environment. Furthermore, Curry College requires the sports medicine staff to maintain the highest standards of care consistent with the National Athletic Trainer's Association Code of Professional Practice and the credential statues of the State of Massachusetts.

Visiting Team Information
The Curry College Sports Medicine Department welcomes you and your teams to campus.  The athletic training room for football, lacrosse, soccer, baseball, and softball is located in lower level of the Miller Field House.  For the rest of our sports, we utilize the athletic training room in the lower level of the Student Center.  A Certified Athletic Trainer will be available at least one hour before contests as well as one hour after contests to assist with any of your medical needs.  Visiting teams will be provided with water coolers, water bottles/cups, injury ice, and biohazard supplies.  All emergency medical equipment will be on-site for contests and readily available.

If your team will be traveling without a Certified Athletic Trainer, please make arrangements prior to your team's arrival for any tapings, treatments, etc. that your student-athletes may require.  Also, please send a medical kit stocked with the appropriate supplies for any treatments and tapings your student-athletes may require.
