Baseball Edged 3-1 at Conference Rival Gordon

WENHAM, Mass. - Curry College absorbed its first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) loss of the season, falling 3-1 at Gordon College (10-4 overall, 1-0 in conference) in the opener of a scheduled baseball twin bill on Monday afternoon in Wenham. The nightcap was postponed due to inclement weather.

The Scots wasted little time getting on the board as Eric Rinaldi (Fr./Torrington, Conn.) scored in the bottom of the first on an error at short and Ben Davidson (Sr./Sterling, Mass.) sac flied to center to plate Brian Harrington (Sr./Shoreham, N.Y.) for the early 2-0 lead.

Curry's Sam Barron (Sr./Hadley, Mass.) then responded in the top of the next frame with a solo shot to inch the Colonels back to within one.

Following a scoreless third, Geoff Brown (Sr./East Moriches, N.Y.) RBI singled to bring in Alex German (So./Brimfield, Ill.) to give the Scots all the offense they would need to secure their first conference win.

Davidson earned the win on the hill, allowing just three hits and one run in five innings of work, while Harrington booked his fourth save of the season.

Travis Levesque (So./Middleboro, Mass.) is charged with the loss for the Colonels, who drop to 4-5-2 overall, 2-1 in the CCC.
