DANBURY, Conn. – Recent Curry College graduate Justin Cage (Glendora, Calif.) has been named an All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Second Team selection. This marks the second honor awarded to Cage was named as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team selection on May 23.
Cage was solid behind the plate for Curry this year making only a single error in 151 chances giving him a .993 fielding percentage. He was also helped keep the run game in check throwing out 50 percent of would-be base stealers. He cut down 16 runners on the base paths ranking him third in the CCC in that category. In conference play, the 12 runners he caught stealing led the league. Offensively, he batted .321 (27-for-84) with five doubles, five home runs and 27 runs batted in. Cage ranked second in the league in home runs and tenth in the conference in RBI's.
