An early run by Roger Williams put the Colonels in a hole they could not get out. Wasik broke a 1-1 tie with three consecutive treys to put the Hawks up by nine. Later, Nick Marini (Loudonville, N.Y.) built the lead to 13 (20-7) with 13:09 with a layup in the paint.
The Hawk defense would hold Curry scoreless over the final five minutes of the first half. From there, the Hawks extended their lead from 16 to 35 with a 17-0 run to end the period and go into halftime with a 55-20 lead.
Curry shot better from the field in the second period, improving from 24.1 percent (7-of-24) to 42.9 percent (18-of-42). However, the 35-point deficit proved to be far too much to overcome.
