BIDDEFORD, Maine - Student-athletes from the Curry College men's and women's ice hockey teams each earned weekly recognition from the Commonwealth Coast Conference on Monday afternoon.
Women's goaltender Soleil Archambeault (London, Ontario) was named the CCC Goaltender of the Week, while men's defenseman Matt Connor (Nottingham, N.H.) was named the CCC Rookie of the Week.
Archambeault secured her second shutout of the season on Saturday night by stopping all 20 shots she faced in a 1-0 win over Salve Regina University. The performance dips her season goals against average below one at 0.98 and moves her save percentage to .970, both tops in the CCC.
Connor continued the hot start to his collegiate career on Saturday with a pair of points in Curry's 7-1 victory over Salve Regina. Connor assisted on a tally from Timmy Kent midway through the third period, and netted his first collegiate goal, a power play marker, just over a minute and a half later to help Curry cruise to the win. With one goal and eight assists on the season, he is tied for second on the Colonels with nine points.
Archambeault earns her second Goaltender of the Week, as she also received the honor on November 21. Connor earns the award for the first time.
