Baseball Concludes Season with Doubleheader Loss to Gordon
Curry College baseball was defeated in both games of a Commonwealth Coast Conference doubleheader against Gordon College on Saturday afternoon at J. Tec White Field.

WENHAM, Mass. - Curry College baseball was defeated in both games of a Commonwealth Coast Conference doubleheader against Gordon College on Saturday afternoon at J. Tec White Field.
With the losses, the Colonels conclude the 2024 season with an overall record of 6-30 and a conference record of 0-14.
GAME ONE: Gordon 12, Curry 9
The Colonels first made a mark on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh inning, scoring four runs on four hits. Drew Fagala (San Antonio, Texas) had an RBI with an infield groundball to score a runner from third, while Tommy Marshall (Hanson, Mass.) hit his sixth home run of the year, a three-run bomb over the right field fence.
Curry put up another five runs in the top of the ninth, starting with another three-run homer for Marshall to make it seven on the season and put the Colonels within five runs of the Gordon lead. Later in the inning, Kyle Doolin (Stoughton, Mass.) smashed another homer, the third Curry home run of the game, capping off scoring for the game with the visitors trailing by three runs.
GAME TWO: Gordon 10, Curry 9
The Colonels posted another four-run inning in the top of the second in game number two. This time, the runs resulted from back-to-back doubles from Daniel Peña (Queens, N.Y.) and Cam Barry (Manchester, Conn.), scoring two runners each to give Curry a 4-3 lead.
Curry scored in four of the last five innings, starting with a sacrifice fly by Devin Grove (Cheshire, Conn.) in the top of the fifth, and an RBI single by Marshall in the top of the sixth.
The final two Curry runs came in the seventh and eighth innings, the first being another homerun from Doolin, his third of the year, and the second and final run being an RBI single by George Calderon (New York, N.Y.) in the eighth.
