Whittier, CA - The Curry Baseball team fell to Whittier on Tuesday, 12-2, falling to 1-1 on the season. Whittier is now 5-11.
Whittier jumped out on top immediately, scoring three runs in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th innings, while the Colonels scored once in the third on a Brandon Mantilla-Mercado RBI single. Curry would get another run in the sixth on an Aaron Siegal RBI single. But the Poets would score three runs in the seventh to go up 12-2, and end the game.
Nick Krise had a nice day at the plate, going 3-3 with three singles.
On the mound, Henry Marino got the loss, starting and going 3.1 innings. He allowed eight hits and nine earned runs. He was relieved by Aiden Agee, who had an impressive collegiate debut, going 2.2 scoreless innings, only allowing one hit.
Up Next - The Colonels will get no rest, as they play at Cal Lutheran on Wednesday at 3pm local time, 6pm back home in Milton.
