Baseball Drops Final Game in California
Los Angeles, CA — The Curry College baseball team fell 17–3 to Occidental College on Saturday afternoon at Anderson Field in the final game of their spring break trip. With the loss, the Colonels move to 1–5 on the season.
Occidental jumped out to an early lead with a run in the first inning before adding four more in the second to take early control of the game. The Tigers continued to build their advantage with additional runs in the third and a six-run fourth inning to extend the lead.
Curry broke into the scoring in the top of the fifth inning when Blake Fuller delivered an RBI single to score Jorge Rodriguez, putting the Colonels on the board. Occidental responded with another run in the bottom half of the inning and added four more in the sixth to stretch the margin.
The Colonels plated two runs in the seventh inning to round out the scoring. Nick Krise singled to left field with two outs, driving in Devin Grove and Ryan Murphy.
Krise led Curry with two RBIs, while Fuller recorded the team's other run batted in. Danny Leyva, Fuller, Shawn Boostrom II, and Krise each collected a hit in the contest.
On the mound, Henry Marino took the loss for the Colonels after making the start. Lucas daCosta, Dan MacLean, and Ryan Crowley each appeared in relief.
Up Next: The Colonels will host their first home game of the 2026 campaign on Tuesday afternoon, facing off against Lasell at 3 PM.
