Baseball Drops Home Matchup Against Roger Williams
Milton, MA - The Curry College baseball team fell to Roger Williams, 13-1, on a rainy Wednesday afternoon at Jack Valley Diamond.
After three scoreless innings to open the game, Roger Williams (8-8, 2-2) broke things open with a nine-run fourth inning, capitalizing on a pair of errors and timely hitting to take control. The Hawks added two more runs in the fifth and two in the seventh to extend their lead.
Curry (4-9, 2-2) was limited offensively, collecting just three hits on the day. Anthony Figueroa, Jorge Rodriguez, and Nick Krise each recorded a hit, with Krise driving in the Colonels' lone run in the seventh inning on an RBI single to center that scored Figueroa.
Luke Miele led the way for the Hawks, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored.
Matthew Donovan earned the win on the mound for Roger Williams, tossing a complete game while allowing just one run on three hits with five strikeouts.
Jack Keane took the loss for Curry, allowing eight runs (seven earned) over 3.1 innings. Aiden Agee and Mike Riordan provided relief out of the bullpen.
Up Next: Baseball will be back on the road tomorrow, heading down to Rhode Island College for a non-conference matchup.
