How did being a student-athlete at Curry assist in preparing you for your career? During my time as a student-athlete at Curry, I was able to obtain a variety of skills academically, physically, and socially. These skills were obtained through wins, losses, upsets, triumphs and learning to overcome obstacles as well as how to handle success. All these experiences prepared me to successfully transition from a student-athlete to a working professional and granted me a serious leg up on advancing my career.
What piece of advice would you have for current Curry College student-athletes? My advice to any person wanting success at whatever it is they wish to accomplish is to never be afraid of going after a goal or a dream. So often people sell themselves short of their full potential because going after something worthwhile removes them from their comfort zone. The possibility of failure frightens people so much that they'd rather pass on a great opportunity or a dream. Failure is not an act but a mindset that allows us to adapt and ultimately grow.
What is your most fond memory of Curry College Athletics? I have many memories of games and plays throughout my time at Curry. When I think back on what part of Curry Athletics gives me the fondest memories, it's never a single game or a play. It's two weeks of camp in the blistering mid-August heat. Two-a-days and film all day. There's something about spending those two weeks with your teammates and coaches going through the toughest weeks of your life and I always look back that with such gratitude of being able to experience. The friendships and bonds made during that time truly will last a lifetime
What would you say were your greatest athletic and academic accomplishments at Curry College? My greatest athletic accomplishment was being named the recipient of the 2017 Mosi Tatupu Award. Mosi (former Patriots player & Curry Coach) was an incredible person that exemplified leadership and courage. Being mentioned in the same breath as him was humbling and a great honor. My greatest academic accomplishment was being named to All-Academic Team three years in a row. This was something I strived and worked extremely hard for. It is a testament of consistency throughout my college career. This helped me earn cum laude distinction upon graduation.
Why did you choose Curry College? I chose Curry for a couple different reasons. I loved the campus and the area. It was a place I felt was suitable to not only advance my athletic and academic career but to prepare for life after athletics. I was recruited to play football and lacrosse. I loved the coaching staff and Coach Bandini was my guy from day one. He loves the school and the football program with every fiber in his being and I could tell immediately in the first five minutes of meeting him. After meeting a lot of coaches and visiting a lot of schools, I knew right away Curry was the right place for me.
