Football and Hockey Recognized by CNE
Milton, MA - The CNE announced their wwekly award winners on Monday, and three diferent Curry teams received recognition.
After beating Husson for the first time in program history, football saw three players recognized. For the fifth time in six weeks, Montie Quinn was named the conference Offensive Player of the Week, as he continues to put up ridiculous numbers. He ran for 245 yards and 3 TDs on Saturday, and even factored into the passing game with three receptions. Omar Aboutoui was named the conference's Special Teams Player of the Week after breaking the program record for longest made FG, 54-yards, which broke his own previous record set earlier this year. This is the third time this season he has won the award. Rounding out the awards for football was Shane Field. The sophomore had 11 tackles and an interception in the Colonel's win.
In the first weekend of hockey, the two Curry goalies stood on their heads, and combined stopped 66 of 68 shots they faced. For the Women, Coriann Hoag stopped 42 of 43 shots across two wins against Manhattanville, and posted a shutout on Friday. For the men, Thomas Heaney stopped 24 of 25 shots to help take down Norwich.
