SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Senior Carlos Ribeiro scored a game high 26 points, leading Curry past Western New England, 68-61, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener for both schools. The Colonels picked up their first win, improving to 1-4 overall on the season. The Golden Bears fell to 2-5.
Curry also got double-digit scoring efforts from junior Antonio Jones (11) and freshman Kenneth Ramos (10). Senior Thomas McLean pulled down a career high 12 rebounds to pace the visitors.
The Colonels resume play on Saturday, visiting CCC rival Wentworth for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
