BIDDEFORD, Maine - Devin Thompson scored a game-high 22 points as the University of New England narrowly defeated Curry College, 68-65, on Tuesday evening (Feb. 17) in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's basketball action at the Harold Alfond Forum.
Thompson nailed 4-of-7 from downtown and made all eight of his free throws to pace the Nor'easters (7-17, 5-12 CCC), while Evrim Ozkan totaled 15 points and six rebounds. CJ Autry contributed nine points and a team-best 11 boards, and Drew Coveney also had nine points to go with four steals.
The Colonels (5-19, 3-14 CCC) had four players score in double figures: Paul Preziosi (18), James Pina (14), Danny Brooks (11), and Antonio Jones (10). Matt Russell had a game-high 12 rebounds.
The Nor'easters will conclude their regular season Saturday when they head to Rhode Island to face Roger Williams University in a game set to tip-off at 3 p.m.
Curry finishes its season Saturday at home versus Salve Regina University (3 p.m.).
