Men’s Basketball Halted by Hartford
Curry College was defeated 62-54 by Hartford University Saturday afternoon in a collegiate women’s basketball game at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated 62-54 by Hartford University Saturday afternoon in a collegiate women's basketball game at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.
With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 7-8 while remaining 0-6 in conference play.
Senior Lowelle Torres (Vineland, N.J.) knocked down a three-pointer to ignite a hot start for the Colonels, with the home team jumping out to a 7-0 lead through the first six minutes of play. Torres led the Colonels in the half with 10 points while going 2-for-2 from behind the three-point line.
Sophomore Jason Romans (Peabody, Mass.) was the leading scorer in the second half, finishing with 10 of Curry's 29 second-half points. Freshman Favour Okeke (East Hartford, Conn.) was another major contributor in the half, scoring seven points coming off the bench.
Torres and Romans both finished with a team-high 14 points while sophomore Mustafo Vanjov (Khorog, Tajikistan) made a big impact with six points, seven rebounds, and five blocks off the bench.
Curry College jumps back into action on Wednesday, January 17th, in a road matchup against the University of New England beginning at 7:30 p.m.
