Men's Basketball Drops Home Contest vs Wentworth
February 7, 2026
Milton, MA - Curry College men's basketball put together a solid offensive effort Saturday afternoon at Katz Gymnasium, but weren't able to limit the Leopards scoring, falling in a 104-92 fast-paced nonconference matchup.
The opening half featured back-and-forth action with both teams shooting efficiently and pushing the tempo. Nathaniel Clemente was dominant from the opening tip, getting inside for rebounds and finishing inside the paint on numerous occasions. The freshman forward poured in 13 first-half points to help the Colonels keep pace. After trailing by as many as nine, the Colonels closed the half strong and went into the locker room down just 52–49.
Wentworth continued its offensive surge after the break, maintaining their efficiency across scoring categories. In the end result the visitors shot the ball at a 52/37/89 percent clip, which was hard for the Colonels to match. Shooting 26-for-31 from the line especially allowed for Wentworth to close down the stretch, even with the Colonels having hung 92 points on the board. The Colonels continued to fight through the final minutes, trimming the deficit and maintaining pressure, but fell short. Curry finished with 18 assists on 33 made field goals, highlighting strong ball movement.
Clemente finished with a career-high 30 points on 12-of-19 shooting while also grabbing nine rebounds. Francisco Lopez provided a spark off the bench with 19 points and six rebounds, putting up his best performance of the year. Manny Hidalgo added 11 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while James Scali chipped in 11 points, including a pair of three-pointers.
For the Leopards, six scorers recorded double-figures, with Donovan Holway leading the charge with 25 points.
Up Next: Curry travels down to Connecticut on Wednesday evening to face University of Hartford at 7:30 PM.
