Providence, RI - The Curry Men's Basketball team defeated the Johnson & Wales Wildcats on Saturday 75-68, improving to 6-17 on the season, and 2-12 in CNE play. The Wildcats are now 3-20 and 2-12.
It was a back-and-forth first half, as neither team ever led by more than four points. A 5-0 run over the last four minutes gave the Colonels a 34-31 halftime lead.
The second half was the same story, with JWU finally grabbing a five point lead midway through the half. But a 10-0 run by the Colonels suddenly had Curry yp by five with seven minutes remaining. With just over two minutes left, the Colonels went on a 9-0 run to go up 72-64. They would eventually win 75-68.
James Scali was the leading scorer for the Colonels, scoring 21 points off the bench, a career high for the senior. He was nearly perfect shooting on the day, going 5-6 from the field, all three pointers, and 6-6 from the free throw line. The Colonels got 20 points from Isaiah Andino. Nethaniel Clemente posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Up Next - The Colonels will hit the court again on Tuesday, when they will host Gordon for their senior night at 7:30pm.
