Ochterbeck, Ketola Collect CCC Weekly Awards
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Alex Ochterbeck (Dallas, Texas) and senior assistant captain Justin Ketola (Cloquet, Minn.) of the Curry College men's ice hockey team have been honored in the Commonwealth Coast Conference's (CCC) announcement of weekly awards. Ochterbeck garnered CCC Player of the Week while Ketola picked up the title of CCC Goaltender of the Week. The duo led the Colonels to a 2-0-0 week with a home-and-home sweep of league opponent Nichols College.
Ochterbeck brings home his second Player of the Week award this season after having two assists in a 4-1 win over the Bison Friday night with a plus-two rating to start the weekend. The sophomore finished the weekend with two goals and an assist in an 8-1 win over Nichols on Saturday in another plus-two rating performance. He totaled five combined points in the two contests.
Ketola also tallies his second conference weekly award of the season as he played a major role in a 2-0 weekend over Nichols for the Colonels. The senior allowed just one goal with 27 saves (.964 save percentage) in a 4-1 win Friday night, then again surrendered only one goal in Saturday's contest. He made 21 saves (.955 save percentage) in the 8-1 win. He finished the week with a .960 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average.
Ochterbeck, Ketola, and the Colonels (7-1-0, 5-1-0 CCC) return to action on Tuesday, November 26 against Stonehill College at the Falmouth Ice Arena. Puck drop is set for 6:40 p.m.
