Fall River, MA - The Curry Men's Hockey team made easy work of Roger Williams on Saturday defeating the Hawks 11-1. This comes a day after beating them 8-0. The Colonels are now 9-4-0 on the season, and 6-2-0 in CNE play. The Hawks are 5-10-0 and 3-7-0.
Just over two minutes into the game Grady Friedman opened the scoring for the Colonels. Blake Rothstein would score twice in the first period, with a Tyler Isherwood goal in between them. For the second straight day the Colonels went into the second period with a 4-0 lead. They continued to pile it on in the second, with Victor Daigneault, JP Moreira, Taurin Haddon-Harris, and Jesse Galassi each scoring, with Moreira scoring twice. Rothstein would record a hat trick, scoring his third goal of the game five minutes into the third. Just seconds after a RWU power play goal, Andrew Morton scored the last goal of the game, making it 11-1.
The Colonels outshot the Hawks 35-12, and won the faceoff battle47 to 24. They were led by fantastic performances on draws by Ben Biester (14-16) and Tyler Isherwood (15-18).
It was another slow night for Cam Smith, as he only faced 12 shots, stopping 11 of them.
