MILTON, Mass. – In a Commonwealth Coast Conference match-up in men's lacrosse on Wednesday night, Curry College lost to Endicott College, 24-2.  The loss drops the Colonels to 6-10 overall and 1-7 in the CCC.  The Gulls improve to 13-3 on the year and 8-0 in the CCC. 

Against the Colonels, Endicott stormed out to a 9-0 lead after just one quarter of play and held a 15-1 lead at halftime thanks to a Gulls offense attack that pepper Curry goalies with 39 shots. Endicott put the first 13 goals on the scoreboard thanks to three off the stick of freshman attacker Colin Bannon (Westport, Conn.) and two apiece from both juniors Kyle Weber (West Hartford, Conn.) and Sam Scoba (Franklin, Mass.).

A Curry goal by junior midfielder Ronald Jensen (Zionsville, Ind.) halted the Endicott streak with 4:10 remaining in the first half but the Blue and Green responded with two more tallies, the third goal of the game by Weber and a strike from junior midfielder Jonathan Morgan (Lake Panamoka, N.Y.). Curry would add their only other goal 3:57 in the fourth quarter, an unassisted tally by freshman attacker Dominick Marcella (Hull, mass.).

Sophomore goalie Cameron Bell (Falmouth, Maine) played the entire first half and 7:20 into the third quarter as he saw his season record improve to 13-3. Bell faced seven shots and made six saves before giving way to freshmen Kenny Sturgess (Hampstead, N.H.), Timothy Flounders (Center Valley, Pa.), Patrick Shelley (Poland, Maine), and Andrew Samonas (Portsmouth, N.H.). Flounders and Shelley registered a save in their time on the field.

Endicott's success in this game can also be credited to the team's face-off specialists that helped secure possession throughout the game. Freshman Tommy Hughes (Coram, N.Y.) won 14-of-16 chances at the "x" while fellow rookie Shane Hughes (York Beach, Maine) secured 10-of-12 face-off attempts. Both led all players on the field with eight ground balls. Tommy Hughes finished his regular season with a .632 win-percentage, the best performance by a freshman in Endicott men's lacrosse history.

Weber had a game-high four points in the win with three goals and an assist. Weber is having a career year with 54 points, third best on the team, on 37 goals and 17 assists. Junior attacker Nick Pinciaro (Beverly, Mass.) scored once and assisted on another while individual goals were scored by 14 players overall. Senior attacker Jake Hager (Longmeadow, Mass.) and freshman attacker Ryan Shipp (Beverly, Mass.) scored their first goals of the season in the win.

Curry ends their season while Endicott will next compete on Wednesday, April 30 against the quarterfinal winner between #4 Salve Regina and #5 Wentworth.
