Milton, MA - The Curry men's lacrosse team fell to Salve Regina on Tuesday 8-4, falling to 1-5 on the season. The Seahawks are now 6-1.
Salve Regina scored the lone goal of the first period just minutes into the game, and then made it 2-0 less than a minutes into the second. But two goals from Nicholas Cole for Curry tied things up at the 10 minute mark of the second period. The Seahawks would score two more goals in the half, including one with just seconds remaining, and took a 4-2 lead into the second half.
After Salve added a goal five minutes into the third period, it was Cole with another goal, followed by a Joey Pinto goal, making it 5-4. But the Seahawks would score the final three goals of the game, and win 8-4.
Niko DeCola made 23 saves in net, a career high, and tied for the ninth most in program history.
With his hat trick, Nicholas Cole becomes just the third player to record a hat trick in four consecutive games, and just the second to do so in a single season. John Castellano recorded a hat trick in the final three games of the 2012 season, and then the first two of the 2013 season. In 2018, Devin Newell recorded four straight hat tricks, part of a nine game stretch that saw him record seven 3+ goal games.
Up Next - The Colonels will host Thomas (ME) on Sunday at 1pm.
