Bristol, RI - The Curry College men's lacrosse team was shut out on the road, falling to Conference of New England foe Roger Williams, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon at Bayside Field.
Curry (3-10, 1-5 CNE) battled defensively throughout the contest, but Roger Williams (6-8, 4-2 CNE) controlled the tempo early, scoring twice in the opening quarter and adding another in the second to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
The Colonels showed resilience in the third quarter, holding Roger Williams scoreless while generating several offensive opportunities. However, they were unable to break through, as the Hawks' defense and goalkeeper Aaron D'Aversa kept Curry off the scoreboard.
Roger Williams pulled away in the fourth quarter, scoring six times to secure the 9-0 victory.
Nicholas Cole led Curry offensively with a team-high 12 shots, including four on goal, while Blake Rothstein added five shots. Despite the offensive pressure, Curry was unable to capitalize on its chances.
Defensively, goalkeeper Niko DeCola recorded 13 saves while facing 46 shots. The Colonels also collected 31 ground balls, with multiple contributors helping to limit additional scoring chances.
Up Next: Curry will look to regroup and bounce back as they continue CNE play at home on Tuesday against the University of New England.
