Newton, MA - The Curry Men's Volleyball team took on a tough opponent in Lasell on Friday, and fell to the Lasers in three sets by a score of 25-21, 25-16, 25-16. The Colonels are now 2-2 on the season, while the Lasers, who are receiving votes in the AVCA Poll, are now 4-1.
Early on the Colonels had an answer for every Lasell punch, and even led 17-15 in the opening set. But an 8-2 run by the Lasers gave them control, and they would take the set. The last two sets were similar, as the Colonels stuck around, and then the Lasers used a run to get some distance, taking both sets 25-16.
The Colonels were led by Chris Milfort with 10 kills, and Brock Beggs with seven. Nyko Whitaker had 19 of the teams' 21 set assists. Libero Braden Alpert led the team with five digs.
Up Next - The Colonels will play again on Tuesday when they travel to Elms for a 7pm game.
