Men's Volleyball Sweeps Emerson
Boston, MA - The Curry men's Volleyball team snapped a three game losing streak on Saturday, as they swept Emerson 25-18, 25-18, 25-21. The Colonels are now 4-6, while the Lions are 2-4.
Emerson had an early first set lead, but the Colonels went on a 7-0 run to grab control. After that, they cruised to a 25-18 first set win. The second set was all Colonels, as they cruised to another 25-18 lead. The third set was much closer, and the two teams went back and forth for a while. Already leading 15-14, the Colonels used a 5-0 run to grab momentum. Emerson would get back within two, but the Colonels would close things out, with Connor Tran sealing the deal with a kill to win the match.
The Colonels continue to be led on offense by Chris Milfort (9 kills) and Nyko Whitaker (18 set assists), as they have been all season. Michael Swanigan contributed with seven kills and a team high 11 digs. The real story of the match was the play at the net, as the Colonels had 16 total blocks. They were led by Jayden Garcia who had 8 block assists, and Milo Barry Young who had a solo block as well as six block assists.
Up Next - The Colonels will take part in a tri-match at Dean next Saturday, also facing King's (PA).
