Dudley, MA - Playing in a conference match for the first time in program history, the Curry Men's Volleyball team fell to Nichols in four sets on Friday night, losing 25-16, 25-20, 27-25, 25-21. The Colonels are now 6-8on the season, and 0-1 in NEVC play. The Bison are 6-8 and 1-0.
Nichols got out to early leads in each of the first two sets, and did not look back in either of them grabbing a 2-0 lead. The third set was more back-and-forth, with the Colonels stealing it 27-25. They then would hold a 17-14 lead in the fourth, seemingly poised to send the match to a fifth set, but the Bison would go on a run, and take the set 25-21, winning the match.
The Colonels were led by Chris Milfort's 16 kills, the seventh time this season he has put away 15+ kills. Also contributing were Hashim Khan and Nicholas Watson, who had seven kills each. Watson also had 13 digs, tied for the team high with Braden Alpert. Nyko Whitaker had 30 set assists, running the offense like usual. Milo Barry Young had 8 total blocks, and is currently averaging over one block per set on the season.
Up Next - The Colonels will host a rare Friday tri-match this week when they welcome Wheaton and Fisher to Milton.
