Softball Swept On Final Day of Spring Break Trip

Clermont, FL - The Curry softball team dropped both of their games on Friday, ending their Spring Break trip 3-7 after falling to Northwestern (MN) 9-0, and North Central (IL) 9-3.
Game One vs Northwestern (MN)
After two scoreless innings, Northwestern took a 1-0 lead in the third, and added two more in the fourth to make in 3-0. They scored a fourth run in the sixth before adding five in the seventh, winning 9-0.
The Colonels had five hits, two of which came from Morgan Barmash. Ana Tsonis had a double.
Tsonis also started in the circle for the Colonels, going 3.2 innings, allowing six hits and three earned runs.
Game Two vs North Central (IL)
The Colonels were the ones to get ahead in this game, scoring three runs in the second inning. The first came on a Tara Goldman RBI single, and the other two on an Adrianna Capozzi RBI double to left field. But North Central would answer with five runs in the third, and three more in the fourth to grab control. They would add one last run in the sixth to win 9-3.
Kassidy Lobb started in the circle for the Colonels, and started off hot, retiring the side in the first inning on 10 pitches, all strikes. But she would be handed the loss after eventually allowing nine hits, and four earned runs in 3.1 innings. The Colonels had eight hits, with Skylar Colburn recording two of them, including a double.
Up Next - The Colonels will have a week off before they hit the field again, next playing on Saturday, March 21st when they host Hartford at 12pm.
