SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Curry College was defeated by Western New England University 64-41 Saturday afternoon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women's basketball matchup at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.
With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 7-14 and a conference record of 2-11.
The Colonels managed to outscore the Golden Bears in the first quarter thanks to junior Emerson Cherry (Sturbridge, Mass.), who knocked down her only two three-point attempts to score half of Curry's points in the period.
Sophomore Lauren Dunn (Hansen, Mass.) paved the way offensively for the Colonels, finishing with 12 points and five rebounds while going a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line.
Curry College returns to action on Tuesday, February 6th, to host the University of New England beginning at 5:30 p.m.
