Women's Tennis Sweeps Regis College 9-0
MILTON, Mass.– Curry College took all nine matches to defeat Regis College, 9-0, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) women’s tennis action Tuesday afternoon in Milton. The Colonels improved to 5-3 overall (3-3 TCCC), while the Pride fell to 1-6 (1-5 TCCC).
Wins from Emily Mongello and Lauren Chuha at #1 doubles, Megan Mulrooney and Devin Curley at #2 doubles and Lauren Maloney and Elizabeth Zarkades at #3 doubles provided the hosts with the 3-0 sweep in the doubles match. Mongello and Chuha defeated Alexandra Kuchera and Caitlin Fitzgerald, 8-0. Mulrooney and Curley took care of Teanna Montoya and Maryjane Barron, 8-4. Lauren Maloney and Elizabeth Zarkades knocked off Kunjan Patel and Paige Paisley, 8-3 at #3 doubles.
Curry won all six singles matches from Mulrooney at #1, Mongello at #2, Maloney at #3, Chuha at #4, Kathleen Rush #5 and Kate Johnson at #6.
The Colonels return to action on Saturday when they travel to Easter Nazarene for a 1:00 p.m. match. The Pride visit Nichols on Saturday for a 11:00 a.m. start.
