BOSTON, Mass. – Simmons University breezed to a 9-0 non-conference victory against Curry College on Saturday at Daly Courts.
The Sharks improved to 5-10 overall on the season. The Colonels dropped to 0-19.
Simmons won all 10 sets played. Marissa Johnson (Norwell, Mass.) at No. 3 singles and Sarah Mariski (Portland, Maine) at No. 4 both won their singles matches without dropping a game. Paola Rios (Miami, Fla.), Michelle Medici (South Portland, Maine), and Carrie St. Peter (Chester, N.H.) also all earned singles wins for the Sharks.
Medici and Rios teamed for a win at first doubles, Mariski and Kaili Shorey (Vassalboro, Maine) won at No. 2 and Natalia the Sharks won the third doubles point by default for the 9-0 sweep.
Curry will round out its spring schedule on Friday, April 19 at Bentley in a non-league match at 3:00 p.m. Simmons returns to the court on Sunday, April 14 at home against Endicott at 11:00 a.m.
