BIDDEFORD, Maine – Curry College freshman Alexandra Borkov (Newton, Mass.) was named as the Commonwealth Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week for the sport of women's tennis on Monday afternoon.

Borkov picked up two wins as part of the Colonels' 6-3 victory over Wentworth. She competed in the top spot in both singles and doubles. In doubles play, she narrowly escaped with the win, earning an 8-7 result after winning a tiebreak 7-5. In singles, she earned a straight-set win defeating her opponent 6-1, 6-2.

Curry (1-0 overall, 1-0 CCC) will next play at Endicott College on Thursday, April 1 at 3:30 p.m.
