Women's Volleyball Suffers a Pair of 3-0 Setbacks at Babson Tri-Match
BABSON PARK, Mass. – Senior captain Meg Flaherty (Hollis, N.H.) recorded 31 kills in two matches to help the Babson College women’s volleyball team claim a pair of victories in a non-conference tri-match at Staake Gymnasium on Saturday. The Beavers defeated Curry College, 3-0 (25-9, 25-9, 25-17) and the University of Maine at Farmington, 3-0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-9) to improve to 8-6 on the season.
Flaherty notched 14 kills and six digs in the opener against Curry. Sophomore Karla Flores (San Juan, Puerto Rico) paced the defense with 14 digs, junior captain Kathleen Lynch (Quincy, Mass.) added four kills, five digs, two block assists, and a match-high 26 assists, and sophomore Christina Cervini (Shrewsbury, Mass.) matched a season-high with nine kills.
For Curry, sophomore Jessica Crugnale (North Reading, Mass.) led the way with three kills, while sophomore Tyla Miller (Marshfield, Mass.) and first-year Courtney DiBiasio (Conventry, R.I.) combined for 15 digs.

In the neutral site match, UMaine Farmington (3-5) swept Curry College (2-8) by a score of 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-10). The Beavers' victory was highlighted by five kills apiece from Mitchell and senior Amanda Mullane (Melrose, Mass.) and 16 assists from Walls. Tello added four kills and 15 digs, and sophomore Jen Vadnais (Arundel, Maine) chipped in with four kills.
Curry was paced by Miller with 28 digs, junior Amanda Willette (Mansfield, Mass.) with three kills, and first-year Hannah Robison (Cumberland, R.I.) with three assists.
