Women's Lacrosse Taken Down by Wentworth

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's lacrosse team fell to the Wentworth Institute of Technology by a final score of 13-10 Wednesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Walter M. Katz Field.
With the loss, Curry falls to 2-11 overall on the season and 1-5 in the CCC.
The teams split a pair of goals in a defensive first quarter. The only Curry tally came from the stick of senior Maggie Murray (Marstons Mills, Mass.).
Each team scored twice in the second quarter to head to the half all knotted up at 3-3. Senior Sabrina Santaniello (Marshfield, Mass.) and sophomore Ellie Hardman (Hanover, Mass.) notched the second quarter goals for the hosts.
Wentworth scored the first five goals of the third quarter and outscored Curry 7-3 in the period to take control of the contest. Hardman, freshman Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.), and junior Morgan Orr (Bozrah, Conn.) scored the third quarter tallies for Curry.
Curry cut the deficit back down to two in the fourth quarter, but couldn't not complete the comeback despite final frame goals from Santaniello (2), senior Sharon Doherty (Easton, Mass.), and freshman Natalie Keenan (Haverhill, Mass.).
Curry senior goalkeeper Jess Ginaitt (Warwick, R.I.) made 10 stops in the losing effort for the Colonels.
Next up for the Colonels, they will travel to Endicott College for their final road game of the season next Tuesday at 4 p.m.
