Players To Watch On Your Team
Our captain, Shea Mathews (Concord, N.H.), has been a vocal leader in the offseason making sure the team is on top of their conditioning as well as in the classroom. Her positive and joyful demeanor makes it an encouraging environment for the team.
Alexis Bell (Salem, Conn.), a transfer student from the former Mt. Ida College, helped lead the Mustangs to a 20-win season as their starting setter last year. Her ability to distribute the ball and create an offense on broken plays will help us in any match.
Top Returning Players
Jordyn Keith (Whitman, Mass.) will be settling into her normal position this year as a libero/defensive specialist. Look for her to dominate the back row.
Caroline Kilduff (Rockland, Mass.) has worked hard in the offseason. She will make a big splash this year. She has improved her quickness and explosiveness. Look for her to be one of the primary options this season.
Top Newcomers
Amanda Wood (Tokyo, Japan) traveled across the globe (Japan) to be a part of the Curry family. She has a tremendous upside. She has the will and determination to be one of the best players in Curry volleyball history.
Rachel Damstra (Houston, Texas) is an all-around player who is a steady presence. Her ability to set, hit, and play defense makes her teammates better when she is on the court.
Lexi Pereira (Attleboro, Mass.) will be competing for the outside hitter position. Her serve receive and defense will help our team tremendously.
Expectations For Season
A winning season and make the CCC Tournament.
Who in League To Look Out For
With only seven teams making the CCC Tournament, we have an uphill battle this season, competing for the final seed. Last year we held the final playoff spot at the number eight seed. We would expect to battle Gordon, UNE, WNE for that sixth and final spot to make it to the CCC Tournament. But who knows…anything can happen.
Curry opens the season on Wednesday, September 5 at home against Regis at 6:00 p.m.
